Springfield Prodigy SLAB Port

Our latest innovation, The Slab Port, a significant improvement to the industry standard Chunk Port. Chunk porting works excellent it reduces recoil effectively for faster follow up shots. The biggest complaint with chunk porting is the increased fouling and unburnt powder that’s created by porting the barrel. It can cause a build up of carbon consequently needing more frequent cleaning of optics and sights.

That’s where the SLAB Port Comes into play. We’ve angled the SLAB Port forward which results in off-gassing up and forward away from the shooter, as well as a significantly reduced flash signature than you would normally get with a standard chunk port

If you’re looking for a revolutionary way to reduce recoil, take faster follow up shots, and not have gas blown directly in your face. This is the port for you.

This Service is completed on your provided slide and barrel.

The Slab Port is cut through your factory front sight, if you’d like your front sight dovetail remilled please select that option.

If no refinishing is selected we can either ship the slide and barrel back with no refinishing or cold blue the milled sections to prevent rust. Please email us with your preference if not refinishing is selected. If we do not receive and email we will leave the cut bare.

The details:

We Precision CNC Mill the SLAB Port into your slide and barrel, followed by back boring the barrel just before the port to increase accuracy and prevent keyholing / the bullet from doing any unwanted acrobatics after your trigger pull.

Loss in velocity is normal due to shortened rifling but in testing this is negligible and within normal deviance.

*In our testing with 115, 124, 147 Grain projectiles we had zero issues. Recoil Spring tuning is not required but tuning the recoil spring allows for a softer return to zero. Most manufacturers over spring their pistols to verify no malfunctions*
